Gemini Strips with cold flexibility -10°C are membranes particularly suitable for bonding on old bituminous layers, and equipped with special adhesive strips that can be activated with heat and allow the diffusion of water vapour in a controlled manner.
The GEMINI STRIPS membrane compound consists of a distilled modified bitumen mixture with elasto-plastomeric polymers and atactic polypropylene, the top surface (exposed) is covered with modified bitumen strips with adhesive elastomeric polymers to allow insulation panels installation; its excellent quality is highlighted by two indicators: cold flexibility (-10°C) and excellent adhesiveness.
These membranes are designed to control the vapour being be completely bonded to the substrate; the strips, subjected to a slight tempering process, ensure the anchoring of insulation panels or slats pre-coupled to General Termodoga products.
The reinforcement used in GEMINI STRIPS range membranes consists of a non-woven polyester fibre and medium-weight fabric, stabilized with glass and rot-proof. The membranes, with excellent dimensional stability, ensure high performance and avoid waterproof surface shrinkage, even in case of roofing subjected to high thermal stresses. This type of reinforcement have excellent mechanical properties, tensile strength, elongation at break and tear strength, characterizing membranes with significant ability to absorb high stresses due to structural movements.
