Garden roof project: San Francesco’s Cloister in Verona
The Cloister of San Francesco, meeting point for university students, is part of San Francesco di Paola’s monastic complex built in 16th century. Today, this building is the headquarter of Verona University. In such prestigious environment, General Membrane has refurbished the existing garden roof positioned right in the middle of the cloister and above the historical library.
The garden roof had some water infiltrations with possible damages for the cultural heritage preserved in the library. The refurbishment has been completed removing the leaking waterproofing membranes and replacing it with a new waterproofing system made of:
- Phoenix Super 4 mm membrane as first layer and Gemini Garden P 4 mm (anti-root) as second layer all along the perimeter.
- Gemini FC 4 mm Light membrane as first layer and Phoenix Super 4 mm as second layer installed in the central area.
The project gives high durability to the roof, ensuring a sustainable and long-lasting waterproofing system.
