GEMINI GARDEN are a range of waterproofing membranes designed for use in roof gardens and green areas as they can resist the perforating action of roots thanks to the antiroot additives employed in their compound.
GEMINI GARDEN employs a compound consisting in distilled bitumen modified with elasto-plastomeric polymers, atactic polypropylene and anti-root additives; the peculiar qualities of this compound are: low temperature flexibility (-10° C) and flow resistance at high temperature (130° C). These properties improve the resistance to thermal ageing, extending the service life of the membrane over time. The anti-root additive allows the membrane to better resist the piercing action of roots when employed under green roofs.
Good cold flexibility enables an easy application of the membrane at low temperatures. This compound, thanks to its special formula, features an excellent resistance to UV ray ageing and allows the membrane to be walked on during application.
The reinforcement employed in GEMINI GARDEN membranes consists in a medium-weight rot-proof glass-reinforced non-woven polyester fabric .
Thanks to its excellent dimensional stability GEMINI GARDEN ensures high performance and avoids shrinkage of the waterproofing surface even if subjected to significant thermal stress. This reinforcement features good mechanical properties, tensile strength and tear resistance, allowing this membrane to absorb high levels of strain due to structural movements of the building and to withstand both foot traffic and static weights.
